PINELLI, Bartolomeo (attributed to) Le jeu de boules. Ca. 1800-1810 Drawing, pen and black ink, 13 x 25 cm, carbon paper, unsigned (some min. vert. creases, white spots). Under passe-partout and frame. Although variants of jeu de boules or pétanque were known to have been played since Ancient Greece, the current version of the game dates back to the middle of the 19th century.
