Very large antique religious meerschaum (pipe clay) relief plaque Stations of the Cross.
The image is part 11 of the 14 parts of the Stations of the Cross. Jesus being nailed to the cross is very detailed.
Originating from France, ca. 1850 and has always been in the same family, the object came to the Netherlands through passing on and inheritance in the family. There are still newspapers from 1900 on the back.
The whole is in good condition with minor signs of age and use.
