Set of 2 Faenza plates from the early 19th century with the famous "Carofano" carnation decoration. The Garofano design was initially developed in the Italian region of Lombardy, but later became a world-famous signature of the majolica city of Faenza. Marco Polo is said to have brought the Garofano paste and pattern from the East in 1279. Not marked. Condition: good as shown in the photos, if necessary ask for additional photos
