A marked pair of Chinese blue and white decorated cream plates, Kangxi / Yongzheng, ca 1720-1725, ca 3. 3 cm. high and 16. 3 cm. Ø.
Painted to the centre with a playing boy ('zotje') holding up a flower in a sunlit landscape with blossoming plants, surrounded by lotus petal-shaped cartouches cut out in silkworm-shaped diaper pattern and flowers containing alternating flowering plants and 'zotjes', the rim with diamond-shaped diaper pattern and oval cartouches with a prunus flower, the reverse with flower twigs, the recessed bottom with two-character 'Zhuanshu' recommendation mark, minor rim chip (image #14) .
