Pocket watch: extremely rare rococo 4-colour gold verge watch with painting and strike on bell, ca. 1760

Ø48.5mm, approx. 109g, 18k gold, pair case, outer case with fine sound openings, raised flower garland in 4 different shades of gold, elaborate enamel painting on the back, inner case plain, also pierced, bell, signed original dome, Jullien Le Roy Paris, signed verge movement with very beautiful movement decoration, quarter repeater, signed, very well preserved enamel dial, gold hands of very beautiful quality, in very good condition, in working order. The watch is of museum quality! Julien Le Roy was the king's watchmaker and one of the best of his time. The spelling of his first name on the dome could be an indication that this watch was intended for the English-speaking market.
