[Polish Army] Group photograph of a military unit with numerous autographs by officers on the reverse, including that of Lt. Henryk Lergetporer. “Ursus” Studio, Warsaw. [1920s]

Gelatin-silver print on cardboard. Photo dimensions: 15 × 22.5 cm; mount dimensions: 27.5 × 33 cm. The front of the passe-partout bears a blind embossed stamp of the Warsaw “Ursus” studio. Soiling, stains, and signs of wear.

The photograph depicts a large group of uniformed Polish Army soldiers, some armed with rifles and bayonets, posing in front of a wooden building. It is likely a commemorative photograph of a unit or participants in military training.

On the reverse are several dozen handwritten signatures, among which the following names were deciphered: Lergetporer, Orłowski, Tarnowski, Kopacz, Podkulski, Kliński, Lewandowski, Gutenberg, Kazanowski, Karnowski, Kortowski, Gwiazda, Szczepanowski, and Skrzeszewski, some of which include their military ranks.

Of particular note is the signature of Lt. Lergetporer, likely Henryk Edward Lergetporer (1897–?), an infantry officer who, from February 1922, served as an instructor at the Greater Poland Infantry Officer Candidate School in Bydgoszcz and later became a certified lieutenant colonel in the Polish Army.
