"The Chester refers to the classic model of Edwardian England, taken up by Renzo Frau in the first catalog of 1912, inspired by the sofas and armchairs that populated English clubs and country houses in those years.
Since then an icon of the Poltrona Frau brand, Chester stands out for the pleats of the armrests which worthily close the rich capitonné workmanship of the cover, carried out entirely by hand.
The Chester has a suspension obtained with biconical steel springs, positioned by hand and fixed to jute straps on a load-bearing structure in seasoned beech.
The seat padding is in rubberized horsehair, while the backrest and armrests are in hand-shaped vegetable hair. The seat cushions are in goose down. The feet can be spherical or high, in the "stained beech" finish
