Pontiac - FirebirdPro Touring - 1969

[ translate ]

Pontiac Firebird converted to Pro Touring. The engine is a ZZ4 by GM performance coupled to a TH700-4 automatic transmission with a Rachet shifter, an alu driveshaft with a Currie 9" locking differential and a GM reinforced axle intake. The high-output engine is a 4-bolt engine equipped with headers, alu heads, roller cam, MSD ignition, serpentine belt system and an Edelbrock intake manifold. Exhaust in a 2" X-pipe layout, engine cooling through 12V fans on the aluminium radiator. Fuel supplied via a 12V fuel pump from the new tank, so the double-pumper carburettor is well fed. Air conditioning system from Classic Auto Air. Hotchkis suspension combined with AQ1 coils (adjustable) . Front and rear suspension has been replaced. In other words, the entire chassis has been addressed. Thanks to this suspension, the car has a very tight, direct and sporty chassis which is incomparable to the suspension of an original 1969 Firebird. The brakes are powered and behind all four 18” wheels from Boss are Willwood disc brakes. As a result, it brakes and stops like the best of them. The interior looks original, standard. And it also very neat. Nearly perfect. It’s been somewhat altered regarding the centre console which features rally-pack clock, and a tachometer on the side. Finished with some trims / decorative rings around the instruments. The air conditioning / heater control looks original but is from Classic Auto Air and fits perfectly in the dashboard. The Firebird seats are good. All of the glass has been replaced with new glass (windshield, rear window and side window) . Underneath the very neat Cortez Silver paintwork are new front and rear panels. Door-skins (exterior door plate) , boot lid, sills and bonnet are also new. The bonnet hinges have also been replaced. The car is very sleek. Small traces of wear are naturally there after some years, but really at a minimal. On the front left panel there’s minor paint damage near the emblem, but this is only noticeable after you’ve looked 3 or 4 times. It’s been touched-up fairly well (see pictures) . The general condition and the looks of the car are very good. The body and interior seem original, but a connoisseur will quickly see that this is fully rebuilt car. Especially once you start driving, you’ll soon notice that something’s different. It is recommended to view the car prior to placing a bid, in order to prevent disappointment. Please contact Catawiki to schedule an appointment. The car can be viewed and picked up in Meijel, the Netherlands.
