Popeye Quarter & Dime Register Banks

American. 1930s and 1950s. The quarter bank and yellow dime bank were made by the "Kalon Mfg. Co." in the 1950s. The Silver dime bank was made by the Behrend & Rothchild Company in the 1930s. The "1929" date on the front of the bank, was the original copyright date representing Popeye's debut appearance in the comic strip "Thimble Theatre". Licensed Popeye products, such as this bank, began appearing in the late 1930s. Marked, "Kalon Mfg. Co.", bottom of front of Quarter bank. Marked, "Copr. King Feat Synd 1929", on Silver dime bank. Marked, "Kalon Mfg. Co.", on original packaging label of Yellow dime bank.

Quarter bank: 4.5" x 4.25" x 3". Silver dime bank: 0.5" x 2.5" x 2.5". Red/yellow dime bank: 0.5" x 5" x 3.5".

Condition
Quarter bank is in great condition with some scratches, scuffs, chips, and oxidation marks throughout body from use. Silver dime bank has oxidation and wear around edge from use and some adhesive residue on underside. Red/yellow dime bank is in original packaging with some chipping and oxidation throughout body.
