Porsche - 911 2.7 Targa - 1974

[ translate ]

Complete restoration in 2017 and 2018. (engine and gearbox, brakes, suspension, new interior, new paint, new targa roof,. . . .) . Very good condition, excellent driving characteristics, FIVA certificate. This Porsche 911 S targa, was first supplied to the US market in 1974. It has a 2. 7-litre 163hp engine, with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Targa format with a small section of removable roof, was built to offer a great compromise between the safety of the fully enclosed Coupé and the freedom of the soft-top cabriolet. The Targa name was given to commemorate Porsche’s successes in the Targa Florio endurance road race from the 1950s onwards. This 911S Targa was imported to Europe several years ago, where it received a renovation, and has now covered 73,000 miles (approximately 117,500km) . The black paint on this 911S looks very strong, near perfect with no scratches, chips or dents to be seen across the bodywork, which is remarkably straight too. The only obvious defect to be seen is a small crack in the left hand side rear bumperette. The “Targa bar” or rollover hoop is finished in satin silver to contrast with the bodywork and match the headlamp trims, window surrounds and door mirror. The Targa roof panel and all other trims are in black. The 15-inch wheels - painted black with silvered rims - are the iconic lightweight Fuchs forged alloy wheels - first fitted as standard to the 911S in 1967. All are fitted with Pirelli P1 tyres. The interior is all black, making it a triple-black car and giving it a slightly menacing look. The leather and vinyl upholstery looks to have been recently retrimmed and presents in a very good condition. The dash top is intact with no shrinkage cracks or splits and although the gauges are US-spec, and therefore read in MPH and Fahrenheit, all are working correctly. The steering wheel is original to the car but there is no longer a stereo fitted. The Targa roof panel fits well but the inside trim could do with a little tidying, where the vinyl and headlining is coming away from the frame above the driver. The car is located in Slovenia.
