Porsche advertised for this car with the slogan: "from 0 to 100km / h and back to 0 in just 10 seconds" to indicate that both acceleration and braking power were above average. The Porsche 928 won the "Car of the Year" title in 1978, making it the only sports car to have ever won this title. On August 7, 1986, with the 928 S4, Al Holbert improved the speed record for sports coupes on the Bonneville Salt Flats by clocking at 275 kph.
