Portrait du fils de l'artiste
huile sur toile
Peint vers 1946-50.
65 x 48,5 cm; 25⅝ x 19⅛ in.
L'authenticité de cette œuvre a été confirmée par le Comité Derain.
Condition Report:
The work has been examined framed. The canvas is not lined. There is a milky and uneven varnish preventing UV light from fully penetrating, however examination under UV light appears to reveal a few dots of retouching in places, notably to the upper part of the right edge, to the right part of the lower edge and to the figure’s neck. There are spots of fluorescence under UV light in the orange-pink pigment to the model’s hands and face which do not seem to be related to any retouching. There are lines of craquelure in places, most predominately in the background. There are a few tiny paint losses scattered. Surface is a bit dusty. This work is in overall good condition.
