Steel tip and heavily varnished.
Carving includes initials, snakes, birds, mermaids, frogs, and flowers on a vine.
Provenance: Found in Missouri descendants of local family, similar image can be found in George Meyer's book, American Folk Art Canes.
Minor wood split, slight wear on varnish consistent with age, otherwise excellent condition.
