Post Saturn Launch Building Model
Outstanding vintage 1:150 scale wooden prototype model of a post-Saturn heavy-lift launch vehicle with vehicle assembly building storage case, made at the Marshall Space Flight Center, Graphic Engineering and Model Studies Branch. The two-stage Saturn-era rocket model, measuring 15" in height, is displayed in an impressive storage case made to resemble the vehicle assembly building, measuring 17" x 21.75" x 10.75", which features a sliding roof cover, sets of four movable window panels to each side, and the interior containing a variety of adjustable metal swing arms. The entirety of the model structure is displayed on a heavy wooden base measuring 26" x 22" x 2. In very good to fine condition, with various cosmetic wear to both rocket and building, which includes dings, chipped paint, and scattered toning and stains; three of the door hinges are in need of slight repair.
