Pr English Needlework Scenes

A pair of early 19th century English needlework genre scenes. Embroidered images on hand-painted silk depicting young girls gathering flowers in a country landscape. Double sided frames show annotations identifying maker as "Lucy Martin" wife of "Humphrey Gifford" c. 1814 verso. Both with some damage, losses and fading. Images 7 1/2 x 9" high, in contemporary frames with some wear to reverse painted glass, 12 1/2 x 14" high overall. ESTIMATE $200-300
