Pr Saarinen Cranbrook Dining Chairs

A pair of 1980's Eliel Saarinen "Cranbrook" dining chairs. Maple construction with Black lacquer detail featuring molded backs with scalloped design, upholstered seats and splayed legs. Manufactured by Charles Phipps & Sons in Lexington, Michigan using Saarinen's 1929-30 Art Deco design under license from Cranbrook Academy of Art and Saarinen Family Estate. Both with "Charles Phipps & Son" metal tags at undersides, serial #S1064 and #S1065. Some craquelure to varnish and minor edge wear. Each 37 1/4" high. ESTIMATE $600-800
