Pratt, Martha Augusta Rood (1854-1940) and Dwight Mallory Pratt (1852-1922) Collection of Invitations and Calling Cards and Other Material. Collection of approximately eighty calling cards, wedding, graduation, and anniversary invitations, c. 1860-1890 (mostly wedding), in very good condition, representing a range of fancy stationery of the period; housed in a period book-form box covered in full dark morocco, tooled in gilt with the spine label: Cabinet of Curiosities, with marbled paper-covered edges and interior, with a brass lock (no key) and three compartments within, also housing a small collection of seashells, an agate marble, and several labeled locks of hair (including the compiler's mother's hair), and two small pieces of cross-stitch; the box 11 x 7 in.

Martha Augusta Rood Pratt was likely the compiler of this box; she is listed in some alumnae publications as a non graduate of Mount Holyoke College around 1876. Dwight Pratt graduated from Amherst College in 1876, and Williston Seminary in 1870 (invitations to an Amherst reunion and Williston graduation included in the collection).
