Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Standard Weight Bolt Action Rifle with Weaver Scope in 30GOV'T06 Caliber
Made by Winchester Repeating Arms according to serial number in 1946. Gun has 24" blued Winchester Proof Steel marked barrel with correct stippled ramp front sight and later Lyman rear fold down sight and standard address markings with "30GOV'T06" caliber marking. Barrel has standard 4 groove rifling. Correct black charcoal bluing with correct cartridge slot and Non-factory drilled rear receiver. Receiver is fitted with Weaver KV period scope. Modified bolt for scope clearance with Pre-War style three position safety. Blued hinged detachable steel floorplate with serrated trigger. Walnut Pre-1940 style 20 line per inch checkered low comb stock with oval grip, added Winchester red rubber recoil pad and factory bow sling swivels. LOP: 14". CALIBER/GA: 30-06. S/N: 52997. 90% original blue with some hammer marks in front of sight. Rear sight and front hood are replacements. Checkering is sharp with some handling marks with stock cut for pad addition. Excellent bore and mechanics. Scope is clear and functional.
