Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Transition Standard Weight Bolt Action Rifle in 300 H&H Magnum Caliber
Made by Winchester Repeating Arms according to serial number in 1950. Gun has 26" blued Winchester Proof Steel marked barrel with correct stippled ramp front sight and 22G rear sight and standard address markings with "300 MAGNUM" caliber marking. Barrel has standard 4 groove rifling. Correct black charcoal smooth bluing and undrilled rear receiver with tapered tang. Correct matching serialized bolt with Type III style three position safety and bolt handle. Blued hinged detachable steel floorplate with serrated trigger. Walnut 18 line per inch checkered low comb stock with steel checkered buttplate and factory bow sling swivels. Appears to be an all-correct gun in a highly desirable caliber. LOP: 13-3/4". 90% original metal finish with some carry wear. Wood has Noticeable dings near receiver and on comb with sharp checkering with 90% original varnish. Excellent bore and mechanics.
