Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Transition Standard Weight Bolt Action Rifle in 30GOV'T06 Caliber
Made by Winchester Repeating Arms according to serial number in 1948. Gun has 24" blued Winchester Proof Steel marked barrel with correct stippled ramp front sight and 22 G rear sight and standard address markings with "30GOV'T06" caliber marking. Barrel is marked on underside "1906-48" meaning 1948 production. Barrel has standard 4 groove rifling. Correct smooth black oxide bluing with No cartridge slot and correct drilled rear receiver with tapered tang. Correct matching serialized bolt with Transition style three position safety and Type III bolt handle. Blued hinged detachable steel floorplate with serrated trigger. Walnut 18 line per inch checkered low comb stock with oval grip, steel checkered buttplate and factory bow sling swivels. LOP: 13-3/4". CALIBER/GA: 30-06. S/N: 88379. FFL: Curio & Relic.
