Cream-tan color pottery seated female figural vessel, carrying a large round bundle on her back; skinny arms held in a carrying position on her shoulders, wide rimmed mouth. Red-brown painted upper body.
Dimensions: 26,00 x 19,00 x 25,00 cm.
Condition: Overall surface wear and scattered paint loss, otherwise intact.
Provenance: From the collection of Anne and Kirk Douglas, Los Angeles. Acquired 1953 - 1970's. To family by descent. Kirk and Anne Douglas spent six decades building a collection of fine art, pre-columbian pieces, antiques and memorabilia, surrounding themselves with a broad selection of pre-Columbian sculpture and African masks.
