Pre-Columbian Mexico Terracotta Head
Pre-Columbian style terracotta head fragment from Mexico depicting a male figure with a tall, patterned headdress and strongly modeled facial features. The form and headdress are more suggestive of a Gulf Coast/Veracruz or related Mesoamerican tradition than a secure Aztec attribution. Surface shows age-related wear, encrustation, losses, and weathering. Mounted on a modern black display base. Head Measures: 3-1/4” H x 2-1/4” W x 2” D; Base: 3/4” H x 2-3/4” W x 2-3/4” D.
