Former Iberian Bronze / Iberian votive offer. Large and extremely rare male votive offering representing the figure of a dignitary from the Iberian tribes (BATIR) The figure, tall and slim, shows in a stylised way, as usual in Iberian culture, a standing man, dressed in a pointed headdress, a V-shaped torque and a large belt surrounding the waist. The forearms are slightly bent forward in an offering attitude. Chisel marks define details on clothing and face, such as the eyes. Open hands are also represented schematically. The figure ends with a base as a stand. An impressive example of ancient Iberian bronze art. Iberian culture Date: 4th-2nd centuries BC Material: bronze Dimensions: 12'7 cm Condition: Intact, with nice green patina Origin: -From the inheritance of a southern German art dealer acquired in the 1970s. - former Hermann Historica - J.
