Prehistoric Native American Lanceolate Projectile Point

Native American, Midwestern United States, Ohio, Carroll County, Transitional period, Paleo-Indian to Early Archaic, ca. 10000 to 8000 BCE. A moderately sized lanceolate blade with an outwardly curving midsection that tapers to the tip and straight base. This point might be a type of McConnell lanceolate, usually found in the upper Ohio River valley. The beige-pink chert stone has pretty veining in milky white quartz with some tiny crystalline structures that glitter - likely a type of Flint Ridge chert / chalcedony, which is known for this attractive color banding. Size: 3.5" L x 1" W (8.9 cm x 2.5 cm)
