Text in Italian; with numerous b&w and color illustrations.

Joseph H. Hirshhorn (1899-1981) started working on Wall Street while he was still a teenager and amassed great wealth through his investments in oil and mining. His money allowed him to become one of the country's greatest art collectors. He was an important patron of modern and contemporary art and a friend to many of the artists whose work he collected, including Henry Moore. His collection inspired the foundation of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C.

Condition Report: Approaching good condition; scratches and creases to acetate and wraps, acetate cover with slight separation, edgewear and one tear, creases at spine; offsetting, light toning, foxing (mostly to endpapers and inside covers), and cracking at hinges with slight separation from textblock; occasional mark, scuff, or crease, but otherwise pages clean. Despite wear, a catalogue of one of England's greatest sculptors and with an important association.
