An early 19th century membership certificate in the Princeton Cliosophic Society now the Whig-Cliosophic Society named to Erden Charles Bechtel and dated 1831 with a phone engraving of classical figures clasping hands in front of the lamp of knowledge. The Cliosphic Society was one of two membership societies at Princeton with roots going back into the 18th century. This is a fine example of their membership certificate.
