Prison Made Hitched Horsehair Belt - Deer Lodge

Offered here for your consideration is a prison made hitched horsehair belt from Deer Lodge. This striking hitched horsehair belt is intricately woven with a colorful pattern including red, white, black and yellow. Deer Lodge Montana's horsehair braiding program was one of the most known and popular inmate programs of its kind. Frank Conley, long time warden at Deer Lodge, created various programs in order to keep inmates busy as he believed it would keep them out of trouble. Horsehair items have been woven here since the 1890s. This belt is sure to enhance any outfit so go ahead and bid now!

SIZE: This belt measures 45 inches long x 1 3/8 inches wide.
