A carved wood figure of the Madonna enthroned, presumably Burgundy, late 14th century
Carved three-quarters in the round, the reverse flattened and hollowed out. With partially overpainted older polychromy. A depiction of the Virgin seated on a throne, supporting the standing Christ Child on Her left leg and holding a lily frond Her right hand, designed for a frontal and slightly lowered viewpoint. The Child is shown clothed and holding up His right hand in a blessing gesture, in His left hand He holds a globe.
Wear with losses to the Virgin's crown. Height 76 cm.
