A carved wooden figure of Saint Anthony, probably West German, second half 15th century
Carved three-quarters in the round and comprising two opposing blocks. With extensive remains of older, and possibly original, polychromy.. A figure of the saint seated on a throne and wearing a monk's habit. He holds an open book in his left hand and at his feet we see his attributes: The pig and tongues of flame.
The right hand and several parts of the chair missing. Minimal wear. Height 29.5 cm.
