Iran, 19th century,

Each in black ink on paper laid on card within polychrome borders, the first a quatrain, laid in two slanted panels, within wide gold speckled cream borders, the reverse with a seal impression in black ink ; the second, an exercise in nasta'liq script verging on shikasteh quatrain, within wide plain orange borders, the reverse numbered 1773 in pencil ; the third, in bold nasta'liq script, the strokes inhabited by deer, dogs, sheeps, lions and crowned figure, the wide buff borders with gold, red and blue scrolling tendrils bearing flowers and serrated leaves, 33 x 23cm., 29.4 x 19cm., 31.8 x 20.2cm.
