Property from an Important Private Collection Hilali Astrabadi (d.1287), Shah u darwish, copied by Baudallah Ta’li, Central Asia, dated 17 Jumada II 945 AH/ 10 November 1538, Persian manuscript on paper, 79 leaves plus 3 flyleaves, 8 lines to the page written in black nasta'liq within 2 columns, ruled in black, gold and blue, f.1b with a polychrome and gold headpiece, gold flecked doublures, in brown binding with gilt stamped medallions and spandrels, with flap, text panel 10.5 x 5.5cm.; leaf 17 by 12cm. Provenance: Sotheby’s London, 12 October 2004, lot 2. Condition report: In overall good condition, occasional corrosion of the ink of the text panels, the margins with some stains, some later ownership notes, minor damages to the binding, as viewed.
