Property from an Important Private Collection Mirza Qasim (fl.950 AH/1543 AD), Shanamah, Safavid Persia, the text dated 986-7 AH/1578-80, the paintings 1620 circa, Persian manuscript on paper, 115 leaves, 19 lines to the page, written in black nasta’liq, withing 4 columns, ruled in red, gold, black and blue, f.1 associated and bearing on the verso Qur’an, surah al-Fatihah (1) vv.1-7, with a polychrome and gold illuminated frame, f.2a with a polychrome and gold illuminated frame, missing the other half of the bifolium, a second illuminated heading after the first colophon, with 18 paintings, in a light brown binding with flap, text panel 10 x 10.2cm.; leaf 23.6 x 17.7cm.
