Property from an Important Private Collection Shaikh Muslih al-Din Sa’di (d.1292), Diwan, Safavid Persia, dated 957 AH/1550-51 AD, Persian manuscript on paper, 121 leaves, 15 lines to the page, written in black nasta’liq within 2 columns, ruled in red, yellow, blue and black, titles in blue or gold, f.1b with a gold and polychrome heading, 7 cartouches with text against a gold ground and polychrome floral decoration, in a fine brown leather binding with gilt stamped medallions and spandrels against a dark ground decorated with gold leaves, fine doublures with green and blue cut out medallions, with flap, text panel 15.5 x 8.5cm.; leaf 24.8 x 15.5cm.
Condition report: In good condition, minor stains and smudges, the illumination in good condition, with only minor losses, the binding with minor losses to the doublures and minor scratched to the outside, otherwise in excellent condition, as viewed.
