Property from an Important Private Collection Tuhfat Al-Umara Min Tasanif Al-Hukuma (Sayings from Wise Men to Rulers), Copied by Yar Ali, Iran, dated 924AH/1518AD, Persian manuscript on paper, 14ff., with 7 ll. of fine black nasta'liq per page, headings written in blue and gold, margins ruled in colours and gold, catchwords, one opening illuminated headpiece in colours and gold, rebacked, trimmed, with paper extensions along outer edge, in later floral lacquer binding, the doublures with floral scrolls in gold over a black ground, folio 13.4 x 7.6cm. The only other recorded work by scribe Yar Ali is an album page in the Library of Istanbul University (Bayani 1348, p. 964)
