Property from an Important Private Collection Two leaves from a Zoroastrian apocalyptic text, Persia, probably Injuid Shiraz, early 14th century, Persian manuscript on paper, 9 lines to the page, written in black naskh, ruled in red, each leaf with a painting, 10.5 by 7.8cm.; 15.5 by 11.5cm. Note: These two leaves come from an untitled and anonymous Zoroastrian apocalyptic text written after the Mongol conquest which narrated the history of the world through the horoscopes of major political and military figures. Three leaves from the same manuscript are now in the Agha Khan Museum, Toronto, inv.no.AKM86, AKM87, and AKM26; Two leaves are in the Princeton University library, inv.no. Garrett no. 91G-92; two further leaves are in the al-Sabah Collection, Kuwait, inv. no. LNS 50 ms (a-b). Other leaves have been offered at Sotheby's London 1 December 1969, lots 25-28. Condition report: In overall fair condition, residue of tape, some losses to the corners, stains and rubbing, holes and later ownership notes, some damage to the paintings, as viewed.
