Property of a deceased estate - David Frith (b.1943) - a studio pottery stoneware dish, impressed monogram & Brookhouse Pottery mark, 10.4ins. (26.4cms.) diameter. Provenance - Kathleen Ellen Marigold Austin (1929-2018), a potter herself who started at Carter Stabler Adams Poole Pottery in the 1950's before embarking on a teaching career and starting a pottery at Cheverton with Ann Stannard, and later on her own at the Calendula Pottery in Hertfordshire. She collected the works of many other potters including Bernard Leach, Shoji Hamada and Michael Cardew, acquiring pieces directly from the potters or at exhibitions like those at The Arts Council.
