Prosper Ferey, French, early-mid 19th Century- Cattle drovers on a hillside; oil on canvas, signed and dated '1864' (lower right), 64.8 x 130.5 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: As noted in Benezit, Ferey was a painter of genre, landscape and animal scenes, who exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1847 and 1848. The present work is characteristic of his oeuvre and is on a particularly large scale.
