Born in Hungary in 1911, Akos Biro is very much thought of as a French painter, due to the he lived and worked in France for most of his professional life - firstly with studios in Montparnasse and Montmartre before he discovered the warmth and light of Provence, where he moved permanently to in the 1970's.
