Purvis Young(1943-2010) Young was an American artist from the Overtown neighborhood of Miami, Florida. Piece is fully certified by the Purvis Young foundation and cataloged. Young's work, often a blend of collage and painting, utilizes found objects and the experience of African Americans in the south. Descended from Bahamians, Purvis has often been exhibited with Caribbean and mainly Haitian artists contributed to his many exhibitions in the greater little Haiti area in Florida.
