Purvis Young, Figures with Halos
Purvis Young (American, 1943-2010)
An expressive oil on board, this work depicts a vibrant scene of seven standing figures with prominent yellow halos, their forms rendered in bold, direct brushstrokes. Below them, a powerful composition of stylized forms in a palette of blues, reds, greens, and warm yellows suggests a crowd or hands raised. Signed 'Young' in the lower center. Framed.
