Pyromorphite & Anglesite Block 14 (ML 14), Broken Hill Proprietary Mine, Broken Hill, Broken Hill district, Yancowinna Co., New South Wales, Australia "A 3.5 inch cluster of brown prismatic pyromorphite to about 2 cm with a few blebs of micro anglesite crystals growing amongst the anglesite crystals. Got the specimen from Wayne Leicht when he sold Dick Bideaux's collection. This was one of the specimens that Dick Bideaux was given by Arthur Montgomery." - Rock H. Currier In addition to being a superb example of Pyromorphite with Anglesite from one of the most renowned mines on the planet, it possesses provenance up the wazoo: From Art Montgomery to Dick Bideaux. From Dick Bideaux to Wayne Leicht. And finally, from Wayne Leicht to the infamous: Rock Henry Currier. Classic tan with faint overtones of pink, very similar to that other classic locale for Pyromorphite: Bad Ems. The colorless Anglesites, lightly sprinkled over the terminations of the pyros, tend to partially ruin that analogy, but the similarities remain. This is from the mine that gave BHP its start and 'Mad Max' a filming location. There is a custom acrylic base for this beauty. Overall Measurements: 3.7 x 2.0 x 1.8 inches (9.5 x 5.0 x 4.5 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Bought from Kristalle (Wayne Leicht), Ex. Dick Bideaux, Ex. Arthur Montgomery Collections [RHC #5094, acquired 1987] Mindat Photo ID#281472 [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
