Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Qianlong GE ware porcelain Zun vase. The Porcelain potted in a Zun shaped vase, thick, globular body, slighty heavy on mid body, rounded shoulder concealing gracefully to a prominent straight neck, raised with short splayed foot base rim and slight concave. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in creme under glazed base color which contrast against the GE design color. Distinctive "GE" crackled glaze also known as jinsitiexian which translates to mean gold floss and iron thread which details the look of several lines that appear in the crackled surface. Grayish white stoneware glaze with an intentionally closely crackled glaze, Copied ever after and particularly popular in the early 20th century, then often in combination with brown unglazed molded or incised borders or applications. Ge makes together with Guan, Ding, Jun and Ru up the Five Great Song Wares. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. Mark on under base, a six under glazed blue seal script characters reign mark, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
