Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Blue and White Pomegranate Porcelain Moon Vase On Carved Hardwood Stand. The porcelain potted in moon vase, flat globular moon lower belly, emerging archaic dragon flanked on the straight cylindrical neck, round mouth rim, raised on ellipse foot base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue color, depicted of abundant ripe pomegranate fruit tree with fresh green foliage above thrashing lishui wavy waves. Pomegranate is known as the fruit of happiness for its red color and is a symbol of plentiful offspring for its many seeds. Because the pomegranate is full of juicy seeds, it symbolizes fertility in feng shui, and it is used as a feng shui fertility cure. Pomegranate also symbolizes happiness in the family, as well as good luck for one's descendants. The Daoist attribute to it the same power as the peach of immortality.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years QianLong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
