QING CARMINE RED GOURD BOTTLE

Chinese Qing Dynasty QianLong Carmine Red Porcelain Gourd Bottle. Potted in a shape of double gourd resemblance, with two bulbous bellies conjoined together, bulbous lower section finishing into a slender bottleneck at the top, suspending a cylindrical neck, raised on ring foot base and slighty concave. Warm and uniform red glaze applied to the whole surface, only the upper mouth rim and outer bottom is white glazed. Red is the most important variety of China?s porcelain. It was originated in the Qing Dynasty. The red color of the packet symbolizes good luck, corresponding with fire, symbolizes good fortune and joy. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a four under glazed blue script characters reign mark.
