Potted in baluster square, short neck with flaring round opening rim, emerging elephant head on the square tall body, raised on short ring foot base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in sky blue base color which contrast against famille rose design color, depicted of lotus flowers blooms interspersed foliage and scrolling interlocking tendril. Lotus is one of the most significant flowers in the Chinese culture. It symbolizes the holy seat of Buddha. Because the flower rises from the mud and blooms in exquisite beauty it symbolizes perfection and purity of both the heart and mind.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a four under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within blue rectangle lines. Made in The Years of YongZheng Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
