Qajar Copper Hand Etched Vase

Metal vase with a dark patinated finish and an ovoid body tapering to a pedestal foot. The surface is densely decorated with hand-chased ornamentation featuring large lobed medallions containing complex narrative scenes with figures, animals, and foliage. The intervening spaces are filled with fine scrolling foliate motifs, arabesques, and geometric interlace. The neck terminates in a scalloped, foliate-edge rim, and the foot is embellished with repetitive decorative bands. The interior of the foot shows a rough, dark surface consistent with the casting process. No makers mark are visible.
