Qing Dynasty Chinese Pewter Chaoyang Sweetmeat Warmer
Circa 1890-1900, with lidded four lobed warmer that opens to reveal five lidded compartments for sweetmeats, each with dark or light green jade set in handles of lids, each in the form of a different fruit, all surfaces are engraved with Chinese characters in circles and floral, exterior lid with two nuts as finial inset with red agate, signed on underside of lid, brass bale handles on sides, 14" diameter x 7" high. Each dish on interior can be removed and there is a reservoir or hot water beneath. Includes four footed pewter plates with similar engraving, 4 1/4" diameter. Condition one plate with break in brass rim and plates had removable platforms attached to side of Chaoyang, which are now missing, else Fine.
