Queen - A Night At The Opera - Presented To Freddy Mercury - Official RIAA award - 1975/2002

[ translate ]

Rare to the extreme 3X Triple Platinum Award for Queens anthem "A Night At The Opera" PRESENTED TO FREDDY MERCURYA Night at the Opera is the fourth studio album by the British rock band Queen, released on 21 November 1975 by EMI Records in the United Kingdom and by Elektra Records in the United States. It was the most expensive album ever recorded at the time of its release. The album takes its (unlikely) name from the Marx Brothers film of the same name, which the band watched one night at the studio complex when recording. A Night at the Opera incorporates a wide range of styles, including ballads, songs in a music hall style, hard rock tracks and progressive rock influences. The album has been hailed as Queen’s greatest album ever and by music experts around the world as one of the greatest albums ever recorded. The influence of superstar and unarguable musical genius, Freddie Mercury cannot be overstated in any of the lyrics, styles or presentation in live performances of the album’s content. In fact, one of Mercury's most notable performances with Queen took place at Live Aid in 1985. Queen's performance at the event has since been voted by a group of music executives as the greatest live performance in the history of rock music. Mercury's powerful, sustained note during the a cappella section came to be known as "The Note Heard Round the World" While this album received a meager “Triple Platinum” certification from the U. S. RIAA, many times those 3 million have been sold worldwide, and Queen has sold more than 300 million albums. Mercury’s Bohemian Rhapsody and We Are The Champions are consistently voted two of the greatest rock songs of all time.
