Queen Anne Black-painted Vaseback Side Chair, New England, 18th century, shaped crest above a vasiform splat, yellow-painted rush seat, bulbous front stretcher, and carved Spanish feet, ht. 40, seat ht. 17 1/4 in.

There is a repair at the top of the splat. The black paint is old but appears to have remnants of a red surface underneath it. There is a crack to one front corner block. The seat is varnished (over the yellow paint and to the underside). There don't appear to be any structural weaknesses or other repairs.
