From the opinion of PhDr. Naděžda Blažíčková-Horová: "The submitted, albeit unmarked, work is an undoubted and very charming work of Quido Mánes, the youngest of Antonín Mánes' children. Quido Mánes was primarily a genre painter, but he also mastered portraiture. In the submitted pleasing Portrait of a Girl with a Basket of Flowers, he showed how his observation and ability for portrait characterization, as well as a sense of color composition. The painting is unusually smooth, thin and smoothly applied, it appears elegant with a sense of sobriety and overall neatness."
